Bought for noise reduction, limited success

The way people were praising the noise reduction from swapping out the old roller, I figured I'd get a tolerable clean from Neato while I was home, but it really wasn't . .Although the roller reduces the noise level somewhat, most of the noise is generated by the naturally aspirated motor, so I was a bit disappointed with how loud my Neato was after people made it sound like a miracle cure. Finally it works!

THANK YOU FOR OTHER CUSTOMER'S FEEDBACK. My Neato is finally working again. I updated the software and now Neato has adopted the new improved filter and it works great! If you are upgrading to the newer filters and brush panel, make sure to update your Neato software. Instructions are available online. I purchased this item on the recommendation of a Neato Specialist to improve the performance of my Neato vacuum. I installed the brush and filter update as directed. However, every time I turned…

My XV-11 is much quieter on our hardwood floors. We definitely like it.

We don't have pets but we have rented an apartment with a wooden floor for the last few years and this brush is very quiet compared to the original brush with only plastic fins. We've had a Neato XV-11 since 2011, which is great, but the plastic louvers were loud enough on the tree that I often wouldn't run it when we were home or, say, after 9pm. . Does not work for XV-12 on carpet

This does not work for XV-12 on carpet. It was fine on the hardwood floor, but once it hits the carpet it stops and says "My brush got stuck." not suitable for XV-12. In fact, it is difficult to install and you have to work hard to use it. It's possible that the moment the gears are on the carpet, the resistance is too much for the Neato brush to spin freely, and it thinks it's stuck. Revain even sent me a replacement hoping it was just a broken brush but the replacement stops even on carpet…
