You can't get to the USB ports but it makes a great tool tray

Metal insert blocks USB ports on most thin laptops. But the nubbed silicone drafting mat keeps things from slipping and elevates my laptop just enough to plug the USB port into my telescopic cameras. But it's even better not to use it for its intended purpose. This tray is great for storing hand tools during projects. It's lightweight and easy to place where you stand and work. Ideal for car work.

A great idea! Durable and very useful!

Hey, for about $20 you can get a high quality all metal base plate ready to use. Attaches quickly and easily to any tripod. I use mine for my laptop to keep my computer close to furniture so I can be comfortable and still get my work done. Set it up at an angle with a tripod and it takes up minimal space. Two things - make sure you have a solid, heavy tripod - secondly I used tin snips or a hacksaw to cut a few spots on the side edge to make mounting USB/HDMI etc easier but this is up to you…

It broke and only had a small fan.

I've actually never used it for a projector or laptop like I planned and instead kept a small fan while running on a treadmill as the treadmill doesn't have room. After a few months of it (and the fan was only on the tray once a day for about an hour, for about 6 months (was in storage; I removed it after the run) one of the legs broke completely and it is like this now is unusable.I am so glad I never put valuables on it as it would be awful if they collapsed like the (again much smaller and…

Rugged construction - ideal for laptops and tablets.

We needed a strong, easy to fabricate (mounted on a lightweight stand) tray that would fit neatly into the remote fabrication "kit" we were building. This tray fully meets all requirements. We bought a few other accessories from Neewer so we trusted the brand to deliver something solid - a few other less expensive trays that we felt were risky and in a hurry. We are very happy with our choice! The only downside was that the foam anti-slip pad is pretty flimsy and generally doesn't ripple a…

NOT for expensive laptops (IN MY OPINION)

Was hoping this would be an option to throw on one of my tripods and use as a mobile workstation and for tethering. It is NOT stable and durable enough to put expensive gear on it. The tray seemed to shake a lot from the moment I placed it on the tripod. I lowered the center speaker all the way down and the wobble stayed the same as before. I checked everything, and the tray itself was shaking. I could physically observe the tray flexing where you attach it to the tripod. I've seen reviews of…
