Good value for money tripod heads

I used it once and am satisfied. Pretty good product for the money spent. The quality is acceptable, everything works. There are no instructions or documents, so you'll have to figure out how to set up the camera and find the anchor point yourself. The camera mount is a bit small for a full-frame camera, but it works.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • faded

30 degree slope too big to cover

Almost a great little block! The quality and construction for the price is excellent but a major flaw caused me to return it. Pan clicks are 15 degrees and tilt clicks are 30 degrees - too much if you're using a 50mm or larger lens, for example. You miss coverage and can't tighten them properly to stay between them even if you wanted to. I'd love to love this, but unless you're shooting just 360 with an ultra wide lens where the 30 degree tilt still covers overlap, it's useless!

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Doubtful

Very good build quality and easy to find zero point of parallax when using 360 degree photos. It looks like PTgui has no problem stitching images together. However, it would be nice if the side arm was a bit taller to allow the camera to make a full rotation vertically, my A7S isn't very tall but the side with the grip prevents full rotation. What you should consider if you want to use large cameras. All in all a very good set top box for the price.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • So-so

Well designed and well finished product

This is a very well finished product. Very strong and durable. It's easy to set up and works well. The only (very small) minus is the clamp for mounting the camera. For all practical purposes, it only allows for portrait mode camera orientation, which is the preferred orientation for landscape panoramas, but not the right orientation for vertical panoramas (e.g. for Milky Way work). I ordered a 50mm Arca Swiss RRS Rail Plate Nodal Slide Subtend/Bidirectional Double Dual Plate Clamp Quick…

Great value for money

I have to say I haven't used any other panorama heads so I can't compare them to others. I did a lot of research before buying this one and figured it would be a good starting point to see if it would be good for my workflow and I could always invest in a higher-end option later if it came down to it turns out to be worthwhile. I was very surprised at how well put together this set is for the price. I came in a very nice case and it's very durable with a Sony A7 series camera and a large 16-35…

Solid construction but significant design flaws

I bought this to improve the quality of my panoramas and I don't want to spend money on a full ninja knot setup. At $99 this seemed like a good start. After playing around with it a bit, I came to the conclusion that it could be great with a few tweaks, but in its current state it doesn't work as it should. Firstly good: the head is of high quality. The anodizing of all parts looks nice, with no noticeable flaws. Both sliding dovetails are well marked. They don't look like they've been etched…

Well-designed and well-made product

This is a very well made product. Very durable and strong. It's easy to set up and works well. The only (very small) minus is the clamp for fixing the camera. For practical reasons, it only allows portrait camera orientation, which is the preferred orientation for landscape panoramas, but not the right orientation for vertical panoramas (eg.

Pros
  • HORIZONTAL 360 DEGREE ROTATION: The ball head in horizontal position supports 360 degree panning with calibrated accuracy to capture overlapping panoramic images in horizontal direction. 5 different stops: 15°/30°/45°/60°/90°, stop at n24/n12/n8/n6/n4. You don't have to look at the scales when shooting
Cons
  • Long delivery time

I bought a cheaper model first. It was sent back because it had a broken handle. On the second try, I bought an improved version. It costs extra money. You'll still need to check the numbers to make sure they're centered, but having a wide range of click stops saves a lot of time when capturing the exposure. Materials, build quality and design are much better than the cheaper version. Precise parallax adjustment and positioning are important to avoid stitching errors and excessive processing…

Pros
  • 360 DEGREE VERTICAL ROTATION: Consists of 3 independently adjustable boards (horizontal board, vertical board, camera loading board). Built-in stainless steel toothed pulley design on vertical board, 360 degrees vertically adjustable
Cons
  • flimsy

Sturdy design but significant design flaws

I bought this to improve the quality of my panoramas and I don't want to spend money on a full Ninja node setup. At $99 this seemed like a good start. After playing around with it a bit, I came to the conclusion that it could be great with a few tweaks, but doesn't work as it should as it is. Good things first: The head is well finished - The anodizing looks nice on all parts with no obvious flaws - Both Swallowtails have good markings. They don't look like they've been etched so I don't know…

Pros
  • WARNING: Before shooting, adjust the position of the camera lens: the lens assembly (optical center of the lens) must be adjusted to coincide with the axis center of the vertical and horizontal plates; This allows the camera's capturing unit to be located around a fixed point in 3D space, and then the image captured by the camera can be composited by software.
