2 Broken Light Stands

I ordered two. One arrived broken, the other broke on second use. Both plastic parts that connect the tripod legs. Save your money and if you buy it anyway, keep the box. You need it to send them back for a refund (wish I could).

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • I don't remember

Works great with my Fresnel.

I'm using this with an old Altman 65q Fresnel transducer. I don't know what the carrying capacity is, I can't find it anywhere! But I can tell you it can handle at least 9.0 pounds and seems strong enough to handle even more weight. If you are in doubt as to its ability to support the weight of a particular light source, I would recommend taking it to the next level or purchasing a suitable C-Rack.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Infinitely Sluggish

very good for rods and stands

The stand is really nice. The stainless steel finish is stunning and if I get an opportunity to buy equipment that isn't just black I will take it, and not only that, stainless steel can easily last me a lifetime as it resists corrosion. The legs are folded and securely fixed, forming a stable base. Feet with caps to prevent scratching the floor. I used it for my umbrella and panel and it held them perfectly and with equal ease.

Pros
  • Looks good
Cons
  • Not as good as advertised

You get what you pay for

It's not fantastic, but for $26 it does the job. The caps on the legs keep falling out so I had to tape them around to make them fit better. The height is adequate, over 6 feet fully extended. If you just put a little flash or modifier on it it's pretty stable, but if you use it for mono lighting or something heavy it gets a bit wonky. The biggest issue I had was that the top tensioner wouldn't clamp without a lot of effort even when not fully tightened. For a cheap stand it does what itโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging

Well made stand, looks great, worth the money.

Well built stand and looks great! They are much stronger than you would imagine for a sub twenty dollar item, they even have springs in the tubes. I've just ordered another one. For me the height is just perfect for working with ceilings which are mostly 8ft. This might be an obstacle for some of you, but if it isn't, you need to gobble them up before the price starts to rise. I assure you the price will go up once everyone starts to understand what these stalls are all about, it's already gone

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Some small things

Great buy for the price; Beware of the plastic on the 200cm model

It's a lot lighter than I thought it would be, but I guess that's the difference between a $25 model and twice the size. Works well and the adjustment knobs are spring loaded (I think). Pretty stable for my Flashpoint SK400II with medium sized octobox. Update June 25, 2018: One of the legs broke off in the plastic area where it connects to the center column. Didn't pull, didn't do anything aggressive. Just pulled down to expand like I always do. The other two seemingly inferior stands (noโ€ฆ
