I have a sensory problem and regular sheets are too rough and make it difficult to sleep. I thought they were fluffier and softer for some reason, but I'm actually glad they aren't. After washing, they immediately became softer. A flat sheet is ideal as a summer blanket. The fitted sheet hasn't moved an inch in the bed and I sleep perfectly on it.
