Beautiful but not very functional.

I bought these openers to occasionally use cans without lids. The fit on the rim of the can was awkward and when the can was opened the spigot (a small tab that fits under the rim of the rim of the can) flexed and prevented the top of the can from being punctured. I do not recommend if you need a functional opener.

Pros
  • Bar and Wine Tools
Cons
  • Volume

I made the mistake of ordering a cheap can opener. Can openers don't seem to be sold in stores anywhere. Two skilled can openers failed to grab the rim of one can, and when it caught on the other, the pierced end bent without opening the can. Doesn't do what needs to be done

Pros
  • Kitchen Utensils and Gadgets
Cons
  • flimsy

Good in an emergency but not sure to rely on the ability to open.

You can open bottle caps with one hand fairly easily, but my husband and I noticed that the pointed side that should be able to grab the side of the can and hold it securely to pierce; wants to rock and hardly makes a real run! We store them outside or as a last resort, but I wouldn't recommend gifting them.

Pros
  • Corkscrew and Opener
Cons
  • Could have gone for a newer model

Decorative Faucet

If you're looking for something to open bottle caps, this could be for you. If you are looking for a tapper don't waste your money. The hook is too short and at the wrong angle. and the first time I tried tapping the can it all snapped back. The tin can was stronger than the "steel" they used. Needless to say, I had to dig up an old US-made stainless steel can opener to open the can.

Pros
  • Bottle Opener
Cons
  • Big and Chunky

Not old school is good for Bottle Openers

I remember using them growing up and had no problems with them. Bought yesterday and used today to open an 8 ounce can of tomatoes. I barely opened it without bending the tip out of shape. I took it to my shed and put it on a bench grinder. The tip is about 3/8" to 1/2" longer, so I trimmed it that much. I also sharpened the tip to make it easier to pierce the lid of the jar. Works like "Old School" now.

Pros
  • Bar and Wine Tools
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
