Lack of padding - shorts

I bought these to wear under running shorts on 16-24 mile public rides. Their fit and finish is good, but the padding they offer is below average. My sensitive parts of my body felt just as bruised as if I weren't wearing any cycling shorts at all. I was hoping to extend the life of my traditional cycling shorts and overalls on more casual outings. I ended up buying more traditional cycling shorts (Louis Garneau) and now use my old cycling shorts for social rides.

save your money for cycling

For the price it sounds like a great deal but I did an 18 mile ride and felt it all compared to my much older Schwinn shorts which I am replacing would like. The padding in the crotch area is very minimal and it's uncomfortable to walk in the shorts because it's the outline of a seat cushion (almost no cushion) stuck in your butt. I sent them back and decided to buy this MTB bike seat.

First shorts for beginners

I just got into cycling as a different type of workout (I'm a runner). I initially rejected shorts, but a short trip convinced me otherwise. It doesn't sound like much, but they changed the world on my first ride in them (9 miles of bumps). I had a lot of pain coming back but no bum! They are not bulky at all and hardly differ from compression shorts. They didn't absorb much sweat either. Overall I'm very happy I got a decent seal with minimal investment.

Excellent customer service

Update: These are very affordable cycling shorts, I just wish they were a little longer. Customer service is great as they stand behind their product. You will have a hard time finding something this comfortable at a cheaper price. I thought they were almost comparable to $80 shorts in terms of padding. Not as short as underwear pads and not as long as normal cycling shorts. I find them a bit more revealing than regular cycling shorts. Not my favorite pair but for $20 they're ok. I prefer the…

Respectable. You get what you pay for.

I bought these purely for home use on a Peloton bike. They are suitable for that. The padding is hard and I don't know if I want to ride in it for more than an hour, but they don't chafe and hold up well for the first two months I wear them (about twice a week). . They are nowhere near as comfortable as the quality padded shorts I have for road and mountain bikes. But these shorts were about $100 each, and I didn't want to wear them while riding a stationary bike in the basement. They're great…

The size chart is accurate. Comfortable and offers good padding.

I wasn't sure if the size chart was correct. I wear 32" pants and my hips are 38" so according to the chart I chose a medium size. I've considered going up a size (large), but I know a tight fit is better than a loose fit. I'm glad medium fits me very well, not too tight and not too loose. The padding fits properly and is very comfortable. It's medium weight (slightly thinner than regular cycling shorts) so I layered my regular cycling shorts over it to double the padding. My rear end has never

The size is a bit large but the seller took my concerns into account

UPDATE: I originally gave a 1 star rating based on the initial reaction from customer service but after some correspondence they agreed to mail it to me a smaller size so I could appreciate it properly. The shorts are well sewn - seams, seams, elastic and padding do a great job. The fabric wicks sweat effectively. I mainly used it for training on the Peloton bike and it offers comfort even on long rides. I have no complaints about the looks and design. Time will tell if it will hold up to…
