Omix-Ada 13103.02 Center Console Latch (1997-2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ) - Secure Your Console with Ease! Review

I had to tinker with it to make it work. I removed the loop and had to tuck it in straight away. I also added a metal attorney clip at the same time. I had to enlarge the front of the locking screw holes by about 1/16" to prevent the locking tab from hitting the top pad.

This is approximately 1/4 inch. I took the flame, softened the latch and bent it forward so it could snap into the hole. It should cost $5, no more. doesn't work at all after mods - yes, out of the box - I expect it to break by the day and if it doesn't break it will be a bonus.

Low stars because I suspect they didn't properly account for the shrinkage in the injection molding process. There are several reviews that say it broke on first use and I think they are right. The latch was not aligned with the console, so if you try to force it closed you will most likely damage it. I had to heat mine with a heat gun and "massage" the release latch to the front of the console. Then it lined up properly and snapped into place as it should. If I needed another I would buy…
