ONeill Youth Reactor 2 Wetsuit Black Review

Nice suit for kids. I love the ankle zips. Really helps to take off a wetsuit. My only concern is that the 3/2mm thick suit feels a little thin. Could have spent the extra money and bought an Epic. I kept it anyway because it works well for my 11 year old grandson. Surfed 61 degree water over Thanksgiving and stayed warm enough. Suitable for warmer water.

We received the product a little late but are disappointed with the quality and care of the wetsuit we have received. The stitching is poor and the wetsuit appears to have either been worn before and poorly handled or shipping was more difficult than we anticipated resulting in poor quality wetsuit. We ordered one from Dicks for our other baby (same manufacturer) and it looked good. Very disappointed with this product, would like to return it.

This was a big disappointment. I ordered this wetsuit for my son in July, it's September now and he hasn't used it more than 10 times since we live in Southern California with warm water so he really didn't start using it until the first week of September. I bought this for my 11 year old niece who dives with me. This is a size 10 average child and I ordered a size 10. It looked great on her. The length of the arms and legs was spot on and the only initial complaint was that the neck was a little tight. After 3 hours in the pool and four dives in the sea she had no problems and never once mentioned the neck adjustment. I probably just zipped it on too tight the first time and tried not to do that on our ocean dives. She loves this wetsuit!

Bought this for my son who has outgrown a size 14B Quiksilver Syncro. This suit fit him like a glove and the water barely washed away. I could not find stock for the same suit at 16B. So I bought this as a last resort. I had to send this back because the 16 I ordered were huge with huge hips and thighs. I do not know. Maybe it's a women's suit. But the list was not unique. I never thought I had to say this but even O'Neill wetsuits can be of questionable quality. The warmth and suppleness is ok but the seams are poor and both my boys have developed bloody, irritated rashes on their necks that take a week or two to heal (2 different sizes of the same wetsuit model, 2 different people, same location or friction - unlikely coincidence). Firstly the fit is very poor, the size is perfect for my 8 year old, he is around the 50th percentile for height and weight, the suit is a bit long in the leg but that's ok , he goes into it. Unfortunately, it's so baggy and loose that it doesn't even work. A wetsuit keeps a thin layer of water between the skin and the suit, which heats away from the body to keep the wearer warm.
