Memory chips for an old Apple iMac 24 " Intel Duo Core

Got a 2006 24" iMac and upgraded to Lion so I wanted to upgrade the 2 memory slots with 4GB RAM. The memory was well priced and good quality to keep the Apple software running smoothly and keeping it 2006 like new in 2020.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Works well good for internals

I just installed this product on my early 2008 iMac. I upgraded to 4GB a few years ago. If I had known that, I would have gone straight to 6GB. Anyway it works now with 6GB DDR2 SDRAM. It will be interesting to see if I stop getting a spinning pinwheel. I love my old iMac for its ease of use and it does everything I want in a computer. I hope to continue using it in the near future.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Seniors

2008 Mac update with best memory

My old trusty Mac 08 only had 2GB of memory, which is about as much as I could safely install. The Mac seems to be a bit faster and doesn't freeze as much. and cheap.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

Good price for a reliable product

So far so good. The 2009 Macbook managed to replace and upgrade the RAM, which greatly improved performance - both page loading and app opening so fast. It's only been a month, let's see if it's enough. The price was good - there were cheaper kits available but no prime shipping - so it was more than worth it. The RAM was very easy to swap out. Video for extra confidence

Pros
  • Fits many people
Cons
  • Blunt fitment

The memory works as advertised and I plan to buy from the seller again. I used Memtest86+ 8.4 to make sure the memory is working properly. This review is for the OWC 4.0GB Kit (2 x 2GB) PC2-6400 that I purchased from the Newer Galaxy Distribution Company.

Pros
  • Happy so far
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Internal Legacy Mac Products

You know, it's a shame that Apple went down the route of making it difficult to update everything. Thinner doesn't mean better. My old iMac still does everything I need and more. Before you spend $2,000-$5,000 on a new Mac, consider getting something older and installing updates for a fraction of the price. As always, do your homework.

Pros
  • Worth the Money
Cons
  • Functionality
