Eliminates static ground loop noise in active monitors.

Completely eliminates static ground loop noise. I don't have the best ears, but I don't feel any difference in the sound quality. I have a pair of JBL 305P MkII headphones on my desktop connected to a Schiit Magni 2 (headphone amp) connected to a Modi 2 (DAC) connected to my desktop PC via USB. There was annoying static noise when playing and oddly the audio frequency changed depending on the framerate I was getting in-game, so it was clearer and higher in a game where my framerate was higher…

Don't go back straight away. The quality seemed average at best.

One channel didn't work at all out of the box. I took the device out of the plastic case (hot glued) and found a break in one of the wires at the solder joint on the circuit board (first photo). This is probably due to the lack of cable pull protection; However, my unit didn't work even for testing out of the box, let alone the harsh environment of installation. I suspect it was damaged when they installed it in the case at the factory. Another thing I noticed about this unit was that the input

My engine noise problem has been solved!

I bought a small 40 watt amplifier in my '85 El Camino for two 6x9" rear speakers, each in their own cabinet. The amplifier was mounted under the passenger seat and I used a 6" or 8" RCA phono cable from the Alpine AM/FM CD player preamp outputs to the 40 watt amp under the carpet. The phono cable used didn't appear to be very well shielded - it was from my home stereo so I didn't have to go in there be. The rear amp worked fine and sounded great until I started the car and went for a test…

It finally stopped my engine hum

I installed a new Kenwood head unit and 5 channel amp and the engine started to jitter. Making sure the ground was bolted to the bare metal of the body frame in the trunk, I ran a thick 10 gauge ground wire from the main unit to the same spot I had grounded the amp. I even grounded the radio case and the hum stayed. I routed the RCA cables on the opposite side of the car from the power cables to avoid possible interference. Using the Sonicelectronix troubleshooting guide I was able to narrow…

Worked great! good for noise filter

I installed a Boss BV938NV head unit in a 2006 Dodge Magnum SRT and replaced the factory REC head unit but kept the factory amp. I used an RCA adapter to connect the iPod to the AUX inputs and routed the cable through the tunnel to the center bay, where I powered the iPod from the 12V jack in the bay. The unit was nice and quiet except for the aux input from the iPod which gave me 3 different noises: a high pitched howl when nothing was on, another howl from my HID headlight ballasts and…

I had a very strong howl that I could not isolate in any way

I had a very strong howl that I could not isolate at all. I tried moving the ground on my amp, the auxiliary ground on the main unit, and every other trick I could find to try and get rid of the hum. In the end I couldn't take it anymore and bought these sound isolators. I was concerned about the sound quality as I know plugging anything in can affect the signal quality and ultimately the sound quality. I installed them straight from the main unit (I used two, for the front and rear outputs to…
