Not as good as it used to be

I think I bought them too long ago when they were made in the USA. I've had several of these over the years, but the last one was a lot cheaper and lighter. After looking at the label and realizing it was made in China, go for it. Another California company is gone.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Style 90

The quality has dropped sharply; Outlets are insanely tight

I have been using Panamax surge protectors for over 25 years. I've ordered two of these before and they've been just as good as any other unit I've had. But this new one, as well as Revain's replacement, are incredibly tight. Even after dozens of connections/disconnections. This is most likely a manufacturing defect of a specific batch of these units. Beware.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • I have doubts

Panamax couldn't be better

I have been using Panamax surge protectors for about 20 years and have never had any problems with computers etc plugged into them. When an open 220 volt neutral came into my house from the utility line it was repaired the panamax destroyed but everything connected to it was fine. Needless to say, I bought replacements and added them to every 110 volt appliance in the house. In my opinion, no surge protector brand beats Panamax.

Pros
  • Power Strips & Surge Protectors
Cons
  • Great Price

Not too different from other line filters. Very simple functionality. Generous protection for devices connected to the device. One feature I really appreciate is the voltage regulation feature. If your home's electrical grounding is suboptimal and some of your wires in your electric meter are fraying like I did, you may have suboptimal voltage that can destroy electrical equipment. It can detect low voltage (like mine), warn me and turn off my devices to avoid damage. A standard power strip…

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • Piggy Bank Price

Too bad this device is no longer manufactured

This is my second purchase of this device; The Panamax pissed me off a little because that purchase came with a fancy Maxx 1000+. Panamax customer service deteriorated; Old devices have operated trouble-free for at least 10 years before they failed. And the only way to get a replacement is to overspend. I bought a couple of these to have some "always on" outlets that you can't get with cheaper panamax products. I have trusted Panamax for a long time, which is why I bought these two devices. But

Pros
  • Accessories and consumables
Cons
  • Very expensive
