Works well in sports

Due to some negative feedback of the tool breaking or not working at all I tested it. I had two short chain links from a Shimano and a Connex chain and they broke, ie removed the chain pins, both chains with no problem. It is important to hold the tool firmly. Once the tool was properly aligned (the remover pin was snug against the chain pin), I wrapped my fingers around the V-section of the tool and rested my thumb on it (as shown). When I first tried the tool it didn't work, as soon as I…

Pros
  • Shelf for loosening tight connections
Cons
  • Some bugs

A great option for a novice bike mechanic.

I've been cycling for years, but I don't know much about bike care. Well, now that I've read it, I know, and it seems I've missed a lot over the past few thousand miles. I make the tools to assemble the bike myself as I plan on riding it for years to…

Pros
  • The perfect chain tool to take with you, only 77 grams
Cons
  • A few little things

Does the job at a great price

Works exactly how I need it. I rated it 4 out of 5 for ease of use as it takes a bit of fiddling with the handles to find the right way to apply enough force to push out the chain pins. And it took quite a bit of effort to push out the chain pins (as you would hope). But I've ridden about 100 miles since replacing it and it works great, and the tool seems seasoned enough to feel like it would last forever, but it's also small enough that I can keep it on Long-distance trips can put bag without…

Pros
  • Compatible with single speed 1/8" and 5-12 speed chains*
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
