🧵 Pearl Double Black Wide Broadcloth Sewing Fabric Review

I've used this to tie homemade sheet masks and it worked great and was very convenient. I think it's ideal for something like that and for handicrafts. I probably wouldn't use it for clothing because it feels a bit stiff and heavy compared to the ribbons you buy at the fabric store. Great for the purpose I needed and very nice to have on a roll.

I ordered this black rim to finish off the rims of black masks for musicians. The shrink wrap on the binding spool is listed as black but I removed the tape and the binding is definitely dark brown and couldn't be used on masks. I showed this to my husband as a different opinion and he said they look awful together and asked why I would use brown. I ended up having to take the time to make my own tie out of the fabric I already had to meet the deadline. :(

As someone who has been sewing (sewing suits for custom slipcovers) for over 50 years, this tape is of very poor quality. First, a double-folded ribbon requires both raw edges to be folded over to meet in the middle. This band is bent less than 1/4 inch and therefore does not hit in the middle. Second, the ribbon should be folded again so that the 2 previously folded sides meet. In this tape, the two sides just don't meet. This means you have to use a very large zigzag stitch to attach both…
