This is NOT what you need. The engine is very weak. The battery compartment leaves enough space for the batteries to not turn on. I have to shake it to make it work again. When you use it, big pressure can't be applied, otherwise it will shut down. I know I can find a better sharpener than this. Don't waste time and money. I can't go back, but I have a trash can.

Exactly what I was hoping for when I bought a compact sharpener that sharpens crayons into a fantastically long nib small enough to hold on the table. I haven't lost any points from using it. It's battery operated so it doesn't look like the old electric sharpeners on the teacher's desk, just work with it and you'll be fine. I wish it had an adapter to plug it in just because I don't like battery power.

There seems to be one manufacturer that makes sharpeners of this design under several brand names and they all have good reviews. One reviewer recommended simply going for the cheapest option for this design. Well it wasn't the cheapest. But the price difference is so minimal that I chose Office Goods for its looks lol.
