I think mine arrived broken. the grip part would not open the grip mouth. I found that the handle was not properly screwed into the mouth mechanism so I loosened the springs, lifted the handle mechanism and screwed the handle/grip into the mechanism to get the handle working rather than returning it and getting a replacement Find. I had to disassemble the parts, but it seems the thing is mostly assembled from matching parts within parts. Again, I was able to figure out how to get this to work…

I received this item to replace a similar item I have had for over 2 years. It was delivered in the afternoon of 08/29/20 with a wobbly handle. It broke on 08/31/20 at the start of an evening walk with the dog. NOT a pleasant experience. The only saving grace was that Revain customer service refunded the cost and didn't ask me to return the 2-Day Feed Scoop (WOW!)

Construction is stronger than my old giant pine log. Has an aluminum core with plastic tips. The springs are very strong and I was afraid the handle would break in cold weather due to the force required to open the jaws. I found lighter mainsprings at work and replaced the originals and it's much better. If you don't have a strong grip you will need to buy lighter springs and replace them, otherwise this is a very good product.

Springs and handle tension take a little more than most shovels. This is due to the 3 spring configuration for closing the clam shell and not just one or two like cheaper (or cheaply built) units. It takes some time to get used to the effort of overcoming the springs. However, this provides a better "hold"; and the quality of spring materials is very good; The feathers are thicker than anything I've seen before. With aluminum center bar components and stiffer plastics, I expect years of service
