I got them for another project but so far I've used one to power my small Netgear gigabit switch from the USB port. 5V -> 12.2V. The setting was easy and the output has been very stable so far. I've routed some traffic through the switch and so far the converter hasn't even felt hot. FYI the ones I received had holes drilled in the pads different than what is shown in the photo.

Need 10 as 2/3 were bad after unboxing. Smoke immediately. The ones that seem to work fine as long as you keep them under 1 amp. Not sure how they claim more without adding a heatsink or in fast moving air like an RC quadcopter or airplane. Stable output voltage when input signal changes is their good side. Cheap, unreliable parts are the bad side.

No Surprising that boost converter such a reached the price and size of a postage stamp? I've used them to convert 12VDC to 15V as well as 24V. Both applications draw <0.75A so the boost converter only gets a little warm. I used a DC load tool to test it up to its 2A rating. The converter got quite warm and the voltage dropped by about 10%.
