Basically a good idea.

Due to previous problems this seemed like a great idea. I rotated my racquets in Robust mode and absolutely fell in love with Robust Tilt Away. Powermatic is at a distance. I often slide the forend down the bed and twist the end. the swing doesn't swing all the way to the side. I often bumped my knee. I currently use a bungee cord to get it out of the way. I really hate the handle that locks the device in the up position. I would really prefer the cam tightened 1/4 or 1/2 turn.

This is quite difficult for one person, so assistance from a wizard is recommended during installation. Not only does this allow the tailstock to be tilted, but since it adds a few inches to the lathe bed, simply shifting the tailstock a few inches is often sufficient to give clearance for the tool handle when turning shells. One caveat: If the back of your lathe is too…

I screwed it in and then secured each screw one turn and then reset the tailstock so the guide rail and large washer were half on the lathe and half on the swing out mechanism and tightened the tailstock, washer and guides tight. The guide tightened and aligned both parts, then tightened both mounting screws. The fit is fine, once the swivel is back in line with the bed there is a slight difference in height on one side and the tailstock touches the bed and…
