Broken promise

When we first got it we had to be careful not to cut ourselves it was so sharp. We liked the tomato slices to be wafer-thin, although they're a bit small for a steak-sized tomato. However, it needs to be sharpened after a few weeks - it's so dull we have to pierce the skin to cut. We have tried to hand wash only and store neatly in the case. Perhaps sharpening will restore sharpness, but it's a shame this knife didn't retain its sharpness for a reasonable amount of time.

Another good knife from the Komachi series 2

This small utility knife comes in its own holder. I mainly use it as a paring knife for vegetables and fruit. anything in your kitchen - steak, potatoes, sandwiches, beet ends, leeks or peel them instead. Or do both. A sharp and thin blade helps this little bipod get the job done. Ideal design angles in the installation angle of the blade and the angle of the handle make it easier to work with. The weight makes it --- feather light when cutting or cleaning. I've always hated the expression…

Excellent planer, suitable for paring knives

I already had a large knife from the same series and was very happy with it, but I wanted something smaller (the size of a knife). This paring knife did not disappoint. The non-stick coating on the sides makes a big difference - it just glides over the food. If it's sharp, you can use this knife to slice an overripe tomato into neat round chunks (most other knives won't mash this tomato unless their edges are pulled through). I have quite a few knives, but this has become almost the only one I…

Great design. Material Soso

It is light. It's sharp out of the box. This is one of the most successful pairs of utility knives. It s cheap. It's also cheap because it's made from cheap materials. After a few years of use the paint is peeling off and I'm wondering if it ends up in my food and actually in my body. The blade is made of light/thin/cheap metal. Don't expect it to hold its edge as well as more expensive knives. If you are a regular cook this will work. If you frequently use a pair of knives for small jobs, you…

Great little knife - paring knife

I had trouble getting used to this knife at first as the knife I had previously used for similar tasks had a much narrower blade. However, after a while I have to say that this design is great. It's very sharp out of the box. With my use, I need to sharpen about once a month. In combination with a good sharpener, the knife does not have to be heavily used. I can't think of any "cons" for this knife. All I can think of is that the handle of the knife is made of plastic and the knife is very…

Amazing knife for the price

If you take care of your knife (hand wash and dry immediately after each use) it will perform almost as well as an expensive knife. I won't lie, a $100 paring knife will (probably) be better. But not so much that it means anything to someone who isn't a professional cook. I only cook for my family and this knife is perfect for me for the price and quality. I have an expensive santoku knife that I love (gift), but for less intense cutting like you need with a paring knife, this inexpensive knife

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled

Sharp but could be better

This little knife is really nice and sharp. The aesthetics of a product are just as important to me as its function and I have to say that this knife gets a lot of points for its good looks. It's a nice light color so I can find it everywhere (believe me I kind of threw the baby out of the tub with it). I don't think I'll ever throw it in the trash. With that in mind I really think it could have had a better design. It's a bit big and not well balanced. I can't grip it like a regular paring…
