This aquarium lever is not worth the money. It's difficult to use and doesn't function properly. Pet Supplies should be selling a better product. Thanks to my knowledge gained in practice, I was able to see how poorly this product performed.

Many aquatic creatures that require a sponge filter prefer relatively calm water. I've had bettas, shrimp and aquatic frogs, all of which don't like turbulence. A high oxygen supply is actually toxic to frogs. Good luck finding a filter that can be adjusted enough to accommodate them. The main valve for the sponge filter is just a one-way valve that does not control the airflow speed. I finally found this product. I put it in the air hose and now I can reduce the flow to a few bubbles at a time
