They do their job, but it's inconvenient if you plan to change bedding frequently. I have a small child who was in an accident so I have a mattress pad that is causing the sheet and cover to lift more than I would like. So when we have an accident in the middle of the night, it's SOOOOO fun to unzip and re-zip. But otherwise they are great and do exactly what they are supposed to. I have them on 2 beds. I recently bought an adjustable bed and the old straps I had that went around every corner were no longer as effective when I raised the bed . I bought it and it solved my problem. If you also have an adjustable bed, I would definitely prefer this over the four corner strap version. If you have a regular bed both are great and I've had very few issues either way, but as someone who's used both I'd say the cross straps are more effective because they can't slip out of a corner.

Although they can be difficult to put on, they seem to work. I found my best technique to trim them 3-4 inches or the corners of the mattress (for convenience when crossing corners), adjust one corner and slide the strap along the edge of the mattress to the opposite corner. then connect. They do exactly what they were designed to do - hold the sheet on the mattress. Clamps attached to the edge of the sheet are easy to open and close. They're a little trickier when you're changing linens because they'll be removed when nothing's holding them back. I've found that you can either attach a washcloth or towel to hold each end of the strap in place until you attach another sheet, or have a clean sheet ready to attach when you remove the old sheet.
