Red Ledge Rain Jacket

This is a very good raincoat. It's light and raindrops just roll off! I chose pink and am very happy with my purchase. Not only is this a great lightweight rain jacket, it's also a great deal!

Pros
  • Waterproof/breathable ripstop nylon taffeta with taped seams for total wet weather protection and durability.
Cons
  • No instructions

Big Disappointment: Camping

Too big, looks much thicker/warmer in product photo. The material is thin and unfortunately I'm stuck with this useless overpriced jacket. I can't return items because I can't drive to return UPS PURCHASES. Big mistake buying this jacket!

Pros
  • Machine wash cold, gentle cycle with mild detergent. Do not bleach. The line is dry. Do not iron. Do not dry clean
Cons
  • Socket required

Excellent raincoat. for outdoor recreation

Very good jacket. Lightweight but durable and waterproof. Wore it in more than a few showers and stayed dry and comfortable underneath. Good room to move. Really soft inner collar feels good on chin and neck. I just wish the hood was bigger.

Pros
  • Closure without closure
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Big. I've worn Red Ledge jackets for

Great. I've worn Red Ledge jackets for a long time. They usually last a few years. I particularly enjoy cycling in it. Great product for the price. The thin material keeps you dry and packs up very well while taking up minimal space. This jacket is highly recommended!

Pros
  • Fully functional parka with internal storm flap, roll-away hood, elasticated drawstrings at waist and hem, and ventilation zips.
Cons
  • Nothing here

Love the cut and style but NOT WATER RESISTANT!

Updated January 6, 2013 This jacket didn't stay water resistant for long. Now I live in the Pacific Northwest and need everyday rain gear. This jacket is now unusable - it was no longer waterproof about 6 months after purchase. Wouldn't buy again. So much for my hope that it will probably give me a good few years of use. I upgraded to the Showers Pass jacket. My first review. I bought this jacket to replace a yellow sweater that was no longer waterproof after five years. I'd rather have a light

Pros
  • 100% Nylon
Cons
  • Blank

Do NOT trust this product or brand Red Ledge

For a recent fishing trip in Alaska I chose this jacket from a variety of options because it was advertised as lightweight and waterproof. This is basically FALSE ADVERTISING. Red Ledge says, "Our proprietary waterproof/breathable T-Core® coating is applied to lightweight ripstop nylon taffeta combined with a DWR (durable water repellant) finish. All seams are taped and sealed to ensure complete waterproofing. So my understanding of waterproof is waterproof; Water resistance is another. This…

Pros
  • Vietnam
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
