I thought about this for a long time. I finally did it. "Chrome Red" Ruby red soft case. Very bright. I like it a lot more after seeing it in person. Easy to install and remove with a snap of your fingers when needed to access the battery etc. It's worth it for the glamor and drop protection of the device.

A great way to protect 2 your keyrings from scratches is to use bright colors. Only the metal part of the old keychains will still have scratches, which is a shame. Not the product's fault, just poorly designed keychains. I wish someone would invent a new keychain instead of stretchy ones you practically have to break a nail 2 jobs.

Not sure if I would like it or not so I bought one first and then immediately bought the second when it arrived. The case does not interfere with the keys and perfectly seals all normal plastics. The case is made from a soft material, possibly silicone or plastic, but is easy to manipulate and doesn't seem to crack or break. The glossy sheen gives it the look of a hard case. All in all I'm thrilled

Matches my new 2017 Chevy Malibu key fob perfectly. Better than I thought. Pictures are here. Looks like metal, but it's not. No obstacles. The best way I can stop worrying about losing half of the access/operational key is if it somehow fell off and I only have half of the steel insert on the ring. This is a sensible decision. Now I can also attach other articles. So of course you could spend more, but this is a good choice.
