Description of 🍷 Enhance your Merlot drinking experience with the Riedel Merlot Decanter

Give your Cabernet room to breathe in the machine-blown crystal Merlot decanter. Decant young wines several hours before they are served giving the wine a chance to bloom and decant old wines just a few moments before to ensure that the wines’ clarity and brilliance are not obscured by any deposit. Simple design mixes and matches with any stemware. Capacity: 34 1/4 ounce. Hand washing recommended.

Nice little carafe

Very thin glass and small size. Ideal for decanting aged wines when you want to remove sediment but don't want exposure to a lot of air. There is also less space to store leftover wine. Just add the main sphere.

Pros
  • Hand wash recommended.
Cons
  • There are disadvantages

Holds one bottle, good for decanter

Looks like it only holds 1/2 bottle but it will hold a full bottle for about 3/4 carafe. I like it because it's small and doesn't take up much space in my office. I put it in the dishwasher with no problems. It seems delicate/thin, so you need to be careful with it when washing.

Pros
  • Simple design goes with any glass
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous

beautiful but brittle

As the name suggests, and also note that it barely holds a bottle. Interestingly, the "cabernet" version, which I remember being slightly larger, is more useful. I like it for its elegance but I don't expect it to last much longer than a wine glass ie. I see it collapsing in the relatively near future. It's easy to pour from it, which is a plus at the moment.

Pros
  • Decant young wines a few hours before serving to allow the wine to bloom, decant older wines just a few minutes before so the clarity and brilliance of the wine isn't spoiled by sediment
Cons
  • Poor guidance

Good value for money

This Riedel Merlot decanter was perfect for our purposes. It's not as big as our regular decanters, but we've been looking for one that we can take to some BYOB restaurants in a suitcase. It's small enough to hold 2 glasses of wine and best of all it's reasonably priced - oh yeah, around $20 won't cost you much if it breaks in transit! It has a beautiful shape and is ideal for two people. I wouldn't buy this decanter thinking it would be our only decanter at home - I would buy something that…

Pros
  • Bar tools and drinking supplies
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
