This is awesome! We got a couple dozen oysters for Valentine's Day and my husband got to work! I have to say that there's something to be said for a man tossing oysters in the kitchen. The glove was great for my cause (guy makes money with his hands so we can't afford an accident), comes with two gloves but only needs one and the knife was well balanced and hit these kids with no problem. It was damn cool. 😆

The oyster knife was a good knife. I'm sure I could open many, many oysters with this. Unfortunately, given the thin, flimsy, and unprotective gloves, be prepared to have this cute knife poked into your palm. Can't recommend anyone with hands. Specially designed for those who love oysters (like me) and want to protect their hands from a slipped oyster knife when opening oysters. Do yourself a favor because I will buy a quality glove now, but not this one. Your palms will thank me and you.

I have never used any other oyster sheller but this knife seems perfect for the task. It has NO sharp tip, which is a hand safety benefit. As a beginner I will say that opening an oyster is not that easy. Significant effort and back and forth movements are required to release the loop.
