The plastic cord that holds the shape of the rim kept breaking. This is my second hat. The first survived up to 1 1/2 years of continuous use. This second cap had a cord that popped out the second time you put it on. Very sad because I love the cover of this hat! I'm a seamstress and I don't see a good way to feed them to the end or keep them in place in the future.

Bought this to take my little one on walks and to the playground. It works well on walks, but it doesn't breathe at all, making my hair sweat profusely after a short while. However when we go to the playground I can't see my kid because of the huge edges when I help him up the stairs and stuff so it really doesn't work for that. It protects me from the sun but very cheaply made. It wraps a bit tight around my head even with velcro on the back. Not only is the plastic bone that gives the hat its shape (helps hold part of the sun visor) poking around at my head within a week of owning it, it's also sticking out of the hat. Part of the bow/scarf is starting to fray at the edges due to the crappy sewing. Give it 3 stars, a bit generous for this product to be honest. Nice hat. Bought this for a scarf to cover my neck while gardening. Well, I can't return it, so I guess I'll have to buy some buttons now. The button of the hat is torn off (part of the button is torn out from the scarf and both parts of the button are on the hat) and the button of the scarf is pulled out in the pocket so I can't even use the scarf at this point. . This sun hat protects eyes and skin perfectly from the bright sun, even in the tropics. The scarf can be untied to hang down the back and sides to protect the neck, similar to a hijab.
