Works like a USB 3.0 cable with no noticeable speed drop on long file transfers. This will NOT work with the Oculus Rift which I originally bought it for. The cable is too long for passive USB in combination with the length of the factory Oculus cable. The headset will keep reconnecting and disconnecting when using this cable. Just bought this cable and used it several times. I only needed one cable to connect to the USB 3.0 port on the back of my desktop computer. It's a bit out of range so I have port 3.0 which is easy to reach. I use it with a USB smart card reader and a micro SD card for backup. Port 3.0 is much faster than ports 2.0. My Netgear USB 3.0 Nighthawk Wireless Adapter 3 foot cable was too short to place the remote cradle in my desired location. (I was looking for longer cord length, no better performance, but no degradation of existing performance either.)
