I received an 8x12 ivory and black rug. I received it today so I'm only reviewing my one day experience with it. You have to let it sit and put a few heavier things on the tile floor to smooth it out for most of the day, but that's not a bad thing at all. Looks great. Better than I expected. The carpet is soft. Don't slip too much.

This rug is beautiful and great value for money. It's well made and soft and I didn't notice any odor when I opened it. It's mostly flat now after 2 days. It helps to turn it upside down and put some books on it after you unroll it. A small point: I ordered dark blue. I like the color but it's not exactly dark blue. It is a little lighter than dark blue and a little more turquoise. Very nice, but not a real fleet.

So I ordered this for my daughter and she made the mistake of waiting for her office chair to arrive before unpacking the rug so she only unpacked it last week. It smells like a bad chemical smell probably mold it's a horrible smell we kept the baby away from it as a precaution but it smells all over the area she tried to suck by spraying Fabriz nothing helps. This is the second rug I have bought from Safavieh and it did not disappoint! I have a 70 pound golden retriever that has a vengeance on carpets, so durability is always my priority. This rug is not only particularly easy to care for (dog hair literally rolls off by hand or with a vacuum cleaner), it is also beautifully finished. Really nice carpet. Despite not being a mainstream delivery, Revain arrived in less than a week. It was packed very well. Wrapped in thick paper and polyethylene. I was concerned because it came folded and rolled because I ordered 12 x 15, but all the creases were smoothed out in a couple of hours. Typical new carpet smell. We needed a rug for a child's bedroom in a family room. I like the design and the thickness was acceptable. The problem was the strong VOC/chemical smell. We let it air out for a few days but it was still going strong. Also, rubbing hands on carpet left a residue on fingers that smelled of petrol/gasoline. I don't want my baby to crawl and walk.
