Perfect for paddle

This item does exactly what you expect it to. I always had one for the paddle. My friend was kayaking with me and lost his paddle in the water without a leash. Guess who was up the stream without a paddle. Not this guy!

Confound. kayaking

This product was recommended to me by Revain when I ordered an inflatable SUP. Being new to rowing I assumed it was an ankle leash. I'm so stupid. It's certainly not for ankle or arm ties. Although I was disappointed. It should not appear as a recommended article for SUP.

Probably only needed on rivers or for surfing

I bought these when ordering my first two surfboards. While I would use them often, after a few outings I don't see much of a need for them. If I was paddling or surfing rivers I would probably use them as there is a higher risk of the board slipping away from me. Because they are not needed on the lakes I row on.

Not long. Good for sport

This product keeps my paddle on the boat when just floating it. I've used the leash 3 or 4 times and now it's in two pieces. All I had to do was pull a little and the cord came loose exposing the middle of the elastic. Then I went on a multi-port trip and another tug did it. So if you're using this for smooth rides then you're fine, but who really needs a leash for smooth rides?

Suitable for sports

It has done the job well a few times but the bungee is starting to wear out and the clip is no longer holding up. I've seen other brands that look the same but have better components and more color options. I ended up purchasing a kayak paddle and kayak bungee kit and have been very happy with the results over time. FMS Kayak Paddle Leash (6 Colors) FMS Kayak Deck Bungee Kit (9 Colors)

For carrying a bilge sponge

I need a spare line so the bilge sponge doesn't fly away if I roll over or drop it. On my first ride, while pushing off the beach, I was hit by an "even bigger" wave and rolled over. Everything stayed with me, it only remained to throw it back into the kayak under my knees. Mr. Sponge soaked up the water that splashed on the bottom of my yak and I was able to just push it over the side from time to time. This leash works great for what I bought it for.

Okay, done what needed to be done

This product is fine. I bought 6 of these for my small fleet of kayaks that my friends/family and I use. Of the six, I had to retie three in less than a full day. Most of the shrink tubing over the knots came loose. A strap to wrap around the paddle shaft is fine. I think it would be better without the 1/2 turn. After all, these things weren't expensive and they did what they needed to do. You have to be careful with the knots though, if they come undone the line won't do you any good until you

Fell out after first use. Do it yourself and save a few euros.

Don't waste your money, you can make your own with better materials and probably for less money. I bought it in 2013 and used it for the first time yesterday (07/08/16) when I went kayaking with my wife for the first time. I am an experienced kayaker/paddler and have been kayaking for over 4 years. I bought this item because I thought it would be a good idea to keep my paddle safe if I ended up buying a better quality paddle than the one I used. I've since gotten a better paddle but forgot Iโ€ฆ
