Broken on first use, 3 cracks in the middle of the stone

I bought a 16000 grit stone for $156 and you would think this product would be durable. It's Shepton, after all. The 16000 grit stone cracked on first use. 3 cracks formed in the center of the white stone. Also, it had a chip on the edge of the loading brick when opened. We installed it in a Shapton stone holder for another cost of over $125. I wish I had used it as soon as I received it so we could send it straight back to Revain within the 30 day return period. I am a little new to whetstones and may not be using this product to get the most of what it has to offer and intended for use. But no matter how lightly I apply the pressure, accumulation of metal on the surface of the stones starts immediately, and once the stone is covered by the accumulation of metal, one can feel its cutting ability and more to the touch. The stone deteriorates rapidly. I'm the only person I've seen so far that hasn't had a positive experience with this particular grit of…
