Much less than advertised 200w

I bought two of these products to power several 50-60 watt devices. I was a little optimistic about plugging 3 devices (180W max) into the first transformer, but after a minute it got very hot and stopped working after about 5 minutes. Then I tried 2 devices (120W max) on the second transformer and it also got hot and stopped after about an hour. I originally used a transformer with a device and it worked fine for a couple of weeks. So I recommend running it at less than 80 watts (not 200 as…

Good product at a good price

So glad I have this buck converter. This is very important for me when travelling. This converter converts electricity from 220/240 volts to 110/120 volts and protects everything you need to connect it from power surges that could damage your item. My husband and I are going to Cuba next year and we will definitely need it. Now we can charge our phones and I can use my curling iron without worrying about it being damaged by the extra power. The only downside is the standard European plug, so I…

Used to convert 230 to 115 60 Hz American.

I bought this for an unusual purpose and it has worked great for me. I bought a UV lamp for HVAC disinfection. The lamp is designed to plug into a standard outlet and stay on all the time, but I figured it only made sense to have the light on when the air conditioner fan comes on. I went to hook it up and found that the fan is 230 volts so it won't work to power the lamp. I bought this to convert to the 115V AC that the lamp requires. The lamp is low-power, so everything is fine. I am very…

Works well: Power Converter

After reading other reviews it seemed like a good idea to test this unit at home before relying on it abroad. This is easy if you have access to 240V at home, but you can ask someone who is familiar with electrical equipment for help. temperature rise. Next came a 40 watt incandescent load, then 75 watts, then 100 watts. At 100 watts, the outer case hit 161 degrees in an hour, which isn't too bad. However, the temperature has never stabilized, suggesting that heat build-up can be an issue when…

Shocked if this doesn't work for you! with UPDATE!

I bought it for my daughter. She has traveled to Europe twice and this unit continues to work for her. She bought another one but the cheaper one didn't seem to last. This makes it easy to keep your travel essentials going. She loaned it to a friend of mine going to Spain and I look forward to hearing consistently amazing results. Good work! Durable and easy to rotate. It's heavy but durable! A friend of mine borrowed this unit and it was perfect for his personal electronics. But reading other…
