Prevents the answering machine from working

Tested about 10 times with and without a connection and this device definitely prevents my answering machine from working for incoming calls. I can call my home number from my cell phone and the results are repeated.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • No automatic

Works with Bonded VDSL2

I just upgraded from VDSL to Bonded VDSL2 and my old built in surge protector didn't work. Works as it should, without speed loss (confirmed by speed test and in the modem's graphical interface). Internet Service Provider: Centurylink Modem: Zyxel c3000z.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • High price

Award-winning surge protector

The only built-in phone surge protector that works with Windstream DSL modems. Easy to install and works great. In particular, the place where I installed the surge protector can withstand an average of 40 to 50 lightning strikes per year.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons

Surge Protection Cable Required

Requires a second phone cord for installation (not included). It has a ground wire that needs to be connected to something = I'm not sure what. It would be nice if it had all the cords, wires and such and maybe a guide on what to do with the ground wire.

Pros
  • Rugged Construction
Cons
  • Small Parts

Very well made - prepare for ground wire

I have to give credit for the quality, it's very well made but can't test it, I bought it for my AT&T DSL line and I could It can't find another working patch cord. Sorry, this review is not final!

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • So so

Well done, but with a catch.

I purchased this equipment to protect against surges that occur on our telephone line and destroy DSL modem equipment at a rate of once every six months to a year. It was one of the few surge protector options that was said to work with DSL, and it really does. However, this is not transparent to the system. The attenuation caused by this device caused my DSL modem's negotiated speed to drop from 16 Mbps to 14 Mbps without further change. DSL service continued to work, but you probably lost…
