This is the item you want but don't want to pay for. Smartwool makes quality products and this is no exception. Yes they are more expensive but you get what you pay for in terms of quality and comfort. In winter I wear them under my nylon hiking pants. I even wear them under my jeans when I need some warmth. They don't tighten or remind you during class that you're mostly in long underwear. Consider it an investment in gear if you're serious about staying warm during the colder months.
