Abrasive discs don't fit quite right in the case and the material isn't as heavy as I expected BUT it works well and it turned out to be a very useful tool! It only takes me a few seconds to sharpen my stationery knives in the store. For the money I would recommend this tool and buy another if it doesn't work.

Smith's sharpener suits me. A few slow swipes with dull knives and they cut tomatoes without squeezing, my final test. It's not noisy, powerful enough to get the job done, and looks good. I removed it after use leaving only the cable. I think you will like this for everyday use in the home kitchen.

This knife sharpener arrived on time and in good condition. I tried it today and it's easy to use and sharpens all my knives quite well. The instructions state that you should unplug the sharpener and wipe it with a damp cloth to clean it. I suggest turning it over after unplugging it and gently shaking the gray metal dust that forms over a newspaper or trash can. It seems wrong to leave leftovers in it every time you use it.

Easy to use when the blade is less than 1/4 inch thick (approx). very true, especially when you can sharpen what you need and spend less than $20 to back up your effort. This little sharpener will last a long time. Disassembled the old one and found the whetstone was about 1 1/2 inches. wide, and I reckon the wheel has quite a bit of life left. (I had the old one for about 6 or 7 years. Need a new one because the cable was damaged. RECOMMEND.
