Excellent soldering board for industrial use

I've been using this soldering board for over a year now, and it's been an excellent addition to my industrial power tools collection. Thanks to my knowledge gained in practice, I knew exactly what to look for in a soldering board, and SOL 420 Hard was a perfect fit! The board is sturdy, heats up quickly, and has a large enough surface area to work on bigger projects. The only con I have is that it's a bit heavy to carry around, but that's to be expected with such a well-made industrial and…

Pros
  • Sturdy, heats up quickly, large surface area.
Cons
  • A bit heavy to carry around.

Works for me - soldering and soldering equipment

Bought to replace a silver circuit board I bought that got very hot from the soldering parts of my jewelry. It reflects so much heat and works great. The only downside is that the finish wears out fairly quickly, but replacing it is a reasonable price.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Don't remember

Good for highly specialized users

Suitable for many soldering tasks where the torch does not touch the surface. When the torch flame makes contact with the solder plate, it cuts holes and gouges in the surface, leaving voids in the surface. Solder material burns faster than charcoal bricks, somewhat similarly. Suggest something else if you're soldering directly to the board; it's more for the heat shield below the third raised hand.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not sure
