Good product for welding and soldering

I decided to heat my jewelry and was looking for something to use a butane torch on. I don't have a large workspace so this size seemed good to me. Luckily mine arrived undamaged (worried reading all the reviews her watch was broken) and I can see it breaks easily if dropped. I've used it a few times and it works well allowing me to play with fire in my jewelry. Heat flows through it, so I put a small baking sheet underneath it so there are still a few layers between it and the wood workbench…

Wonderfully smooth, flat surface for a secure, stable footing

Unlike magnesia blocks, there are NO HOLES for solder particles and debris to enter. its flat surface supports my PRECISION SOLDERING work. The piece is less likely to move. In addition, unlike magnesia blocks, this plate does not shed. I didn't try to push the wire into this board like in the solder baskets or pin setups. Indifferent, but really shouldn't have looked broken.

Shipping rather than product issue. Not to say you shouldn't buy this as it's probably a good product if you buy it it ain't broke. But my other two cents are below. It was an envelope, in an envelope. The inside cover looks like it's 10 years old. Basically it's probably a stack of these somewhere, every time someone orders one they just put it in a bigger envelope and ship it. They don't actually test the product.
