Ordinary helpers. Better than these little clips. The brackets are rigid, the clamps are insulated, the light is bright and adjustable. Ignore the complaints about the magnifying glass, it does what it's supposed to, it's not a microscope. The only complaint I have about the base is that it's too light. To work with heavier and larger boards, you need to add weight.

The base plate doesn't weigh enough to hold the entire device in a stable position, so it's quite wobbly during operation. The flexible arms are attached to the baseplate in such a way that you don't want to squeeze them for fear of cracking the plastic, but they wiggle too much unless you're medieval. A CG problem unless you can find a way to attach the baseplate to the workbench with straps or screws.

LOVE THIS PRODUCT. The hands are great and help a lot with navigating small circuit boards. It's durable and the light is excellent. A magnifying glass is very effective for seeing fine details. I use it for soldering controller motherboards and game consoles and it's amazing. The only thing I would say is that I would wish for a slightly heavier base as the magnifying glass can cause it to tip over if you pull it back too far to maneuver it.
