I was surprised at how much heavier they are in the hand than the Authentis model, so I weighed them both for comparison. Surprise surprise, they are exactly the same weight (7 oz = 200 g). So the difference in shape, height and thickness should make up the actual feel. However, they are good for everyday use as authentis are more fragile (and easier to break).

Matching glasses for excellent taste and smell. I have a lot of Riedel glassware, mainly the Sommelier series, which is significantly more expensive (and fragile) than this. I prefer them to the cheapest Riedel day glasses. They work great for me and I recommend them to friends who want to switch from regular wine glasses. Spielgelau has been owned by Riedel since 2004.

We love Spiegelau glasses and their glasses are bordeaux red and surprisingly elegant. However, they are expensive and very thin. That's great for wine, but bad for everyday laundry. When we found these Bordeaux glasses, we were pretty skeptical. We've tried them and they're just what we need for everyday drinking. We still love burgundy glasses for dinner parties, but for the daily change, these wine glasses are perfect!

I was in dire need of more white wine glasses when my Thanksgiving guest list suddenly grew. These jars were available for expedited shipping and cost about $6 a stem. I think the quality matches the price. The glasses feel heavy. The lip is a little thicker than expected but not ruffled. They're supposed to be crystal, but they don't feel or sound crystalline, but again, they're only $6 a stem. They don't go with my best wine glasses, but they're fine for my holiday dinner table with family…
