Definitely does the job for the money

I have bought several of these mics for low level kick drum, guitar cab and snare mics and am very happy with their performance for the money. I also have more expensive versions of this basic design that are definitely more durable and reliable (less likely to break or wear out). But for my home studio use with little or no touring requirements, they fit perfectly and do their job well. They're strong enough to handle even the heaviest mics I own and have plenty of customization options. I'm…

Suitable for studio use and home concert in church, bar or living room

This stand is very good looking, adjustable and the price is amazing. The base that the legs attach to is all plastic, there are some other plastic parts on top of the stand which don't feel very heavy, I don't think it would be a good choice for a group that moves around a lot. For a studio or a home gig in a bar or church that would be fine. I use it with a Sennheiser 421 which is a bit large/heavy dynamic mic, the stand holds the mic in place without sagging, I will be buying more due to the

The jib and height are truly impressive, but be prepared to fail! I tried using it with a kick drum and of course they were big mics and I tried to reach it with my hand but that seems to be the point of the stand. Small feet are not well balanced. I tried one length, not even fully stretched, and towards the leg that was still very wobbly. I started with an AKG D112 with perfect balance and no extension. I lengthened the AKGD112 that needed balancing. I used CAD E-100 with the same effect. I…

Not good; definitely not worth 4.5 stars

Advantages: - Cheap! - Compact - folds well Cons: - The main tensioner - a silver rod with balls on either end - fell apart very quickly. One of the balls fell off and can only be attached with superglue. (i.e. no threads, so it actually screws on). Definitely an indicator of general rubbish. - Dressing in general is not very comfortable - there is a certain cheapness in it. It looks stiff and at the same time not very tight. There's no slickness on the train, if that makes sense. You'll need…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine

Just needed a pinch for a guitar amp mic on a fold-out stand. Short summary after two performances: PROS: Black, cheap, compact when folded. CONS: Very low, unstable with anything heavier than the SM57. Unsuitable without modification. This is the cheapest short boom mic stand I could find, so my expectations weren't very high to begin with. At first it appeared to be fairly well built, but after hanging the SM57 from it I found that the threaded male insert pressed into the stem was spinning…
