Bought to replace a broken pump from a small well. There was no information on the old pump so I had to guess how to replace it. This pump looked very similar, so I gave it a try. But it was so powerful (even on the lowest setting) that it spewed water out of the fountain into the patio instead of the fountain bowl. I was surprised.and wet! Very small pump - fits in the palm of your hand. Strong suction, no cage or box around, so my little fish died. Sucked them right on the engine. Sorry I didn't know how to encapsulate it in something to prevent this - I've never used a pump that small before, although I've built several small ponds and this has never happened. The lights are cool but not worth the hassle of the pump. I also expected at least a decorative representation from the nozzle. My mistake, I think they weren't included.

I used this to replace my old Boss pond pump in my outdoor guppy pond and am very happy with the results. I had to lower the setting to reduce the power going to my sump filter because the chamber was filling up faster than my return spout could handle. The good thing is that the LED lamp has a separate cord so I can position it elsewhere in the pond where I want to get the effect I want. update 2019. It has been over a year since I bought this tiny pump. It still works fine. I unhooked it from January to the end of March. I can't believe this little devil is still working. Its adjustable water flow. Creates a nice waterfall if you have the right items. I couldn't be happier. Also, I paid less than $15, I figured I'd live with that for a season. Crazy lightbulbs, useless for my little pond used for bird water - pump runs 24 hours year round; The pond and everything in it is completely cleaned at least once a month. The lights were just another item to clean when cleaning the water bowl and all. The pump clogs easily and I'm pretty sure this is what led to its short lifespan (I've had pumps that lasted 3 years or more before needing replacement - they had a removable filter that needed cleaning more often if needed could).
