Description of πŸ” SVBONY 0.5X Focal Reducer for Telescope – 1.25 inches, Fully Multi-Coated Eyepiece Reducer for Optimal Telescope Photography and Observing (Reducer)

0.5x focal reducer cuts the telescopes focal length in 0.5 times of original's to get a wider field of view. Fully anti-reflection coatings on all air-glass surfaces for increased contrast. The focal reducer is great for visual use for a bigger FOV and is indispensable when CCD imaging. Fully metal structure design;both the ends of the interface part is 28.5x0.6 thread. Directly connect the interface to the eyepiece;there is a very good performance in both visual and photography.

It works but doesn't screw properly into my SVBONY SV205 camera

Size looks right but thread won't hold. I almost lost the reducer in the focus tube. I stick it to SV205 with tape. It works but I'm not happy with it. I only use it for the image of the moon. I just checked it tonight and the wind doesn't let me check the quality of the picture, but nothing stands out so terribly in the pictures I took. . I think I honestly need to scale down even more, but that's not the part's fault.

Works but needs basic instructions for beginners.

I had to call several places to get this information: Remove the standard lens from the camera. Don't use it with this thing. Focusing can be tricky. On my Astro Fi 130 with the Pegasus focuser, I've found that I overshoot the focus point and see nothing because the camera takes a few seconds to lock into Sharpcap and the focuser has 20,650 steps. The step size between fuzzing/seeing/fuzzing was again 150 steps. Until I went from 0 to 20,650 in 100 step intervals, waiting 5 seconds for Sharpcap

Doesn't seem to work with my equipment

I was hoping that this would expand my field of view for some astronomical imaging, but once I started I noticed some anomalies in the images so I did. didn't even bother to finish focusing. I have f/6.3 which works fine in a similar setting but doesn't seem to be doing what I expected. I was expecting some vignetting, but not that much, and some aberrations, but not that much. The product is a really good idea and we'll keep trying to get it working, but for now I can't recommend anyone using…
