Definitely not a tulle fabric, it's more like a mesh mosquito net. It's very disappointing, not as pretty (or at all) as the picture, I wouldn't recommend it even if it was half the price.

I have the gray one and it's a very nice shade of gray. Not too dark and not too light to make it look dirty. He is very soft. My only complaint is that when you set the crib mattress to its lowest setting for a standard crib, that ruffle drags at least 3 inches off the floor. To be honest I think most ruffles are too long for today's low cribs, but it's worth noting.

The tulle is not thin as other reviews say. It has a white underside behind it so it doesn't show through completely (see photo). It looks and feels perfect, not cheap at all! Best deal and money spent! Don't be ashamed of a bad review. This is a must! Photos do not convey this justice. Long enough for a cot on the highest mattress.

I didn't read the washing instructions and just wanted to tidy them up a little after unpacking. Well, just as I touched the fabric with an iron, it immediately melted. :(. Good thing it was in the area that would be on the wall but I could just cry. I had this skirt on my kids list and I didn't get it so I figured it would be a good waste of money for Christmas nobody besides me will ever know but what the heck is layette i think it can be washed and ironed other than that it's really cute!
