Amazing knife. I love good kitchen appliances and this.

Amazing knife. I love good kitchenware and this is one of those gems that I will always hold onto. I love making practical wedding gifts and now I'm going to give them to every couple.

Great little workhorse!

This is the best little workhorse I've ever owned. This is a durable knife that can be used alongside a variety of boning wax mice. This one, or one that's a little shorter, will work well for the job. Good product. Excellent steel.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Compatibility

Excellent entry-level knife

Excellent entry-level knife for Japanese knives. Bought as a gift for a cooking student. This is a nice thin but strong blade. Two types of steel offer a hard edge for sharpness and a softer core for strength. They stay sharp much longer than the German counterpart. Tojiro was amazing.

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • High price

Great Knife: Kitchen & Dining

Tojiro knives are amazing. I have three, cooks (gyutou) and two little ones (from this one). super sharp. I like the handle design more than some of the oval designs. The absence of a roller on the heel makes it easier to use the knife, since there is an edge from the board, and sharpening is also simplified.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Out of Style

Razors are boring in comparison.

I've had an 8.3" Gyotu DP for 3 years and I LOVE it so I wanted something smaller for shallots and such. Well this is a miniature version of this knife and it's just as sharp Seriously these Tojiro can cut atoms out of molecules so be careful I'm very happy with it as it's great for small jobs.

Pros
  • Brilliantly made
Cons
  • Fading

Shame about these German knives

Tojiro makes great knives at a very reasonable price. Razor sharp out of the box. The laminated steel blade offers good edge retention as well as elasticity and ease of maintenance. You can spend a lot more on a knife that doesn't perform any better. Well, if you really like very sharp kitchen knives, you need to learn how to sharpen them yourself. But this is another story.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Something different

Excellent knife suitable for cutlery and knife accessories

We had a Japanese knife in the kitchen for many years until the tip broke and we got it as a replacement. Excellent knife. Perfectly holds the blade, easy to clean, copes with any task. The boltless design (blade comes to the base of the blade) makes it more maneuverable than many European forged paring knives. The only downside to this knife is that the handle is a bit smaller than I would like. I suppose those with small hands won't mind this at all, but that's the only thing stopping me from

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive
