Terrible product suitable for jumpers, chargers and portable power supplies

This is a terrible product. I installed it in my cabin. In my absence it has drained my batteries to the point where they have frozen so I am now replacing this device as well as my batteries. I will not be purchasing another Tripp Lite product. I've read about phantom power consumption in other reviews but assumed it was user error. My mistake and hopefully this review will save others from making the same mistake.

Pros
  • Easy to install

Inverter/Charger

built into an enclosed work trailer, works great, only slight downside is the mounting lugs are very small and handy - for mounting such heavy equipment - otherwise a great product! Update - - the device died after about 4 1/2 - 5 years of use, when I plug something in, the internal switch trips after a few seconds, and when using the charger it also trips after a few seconds. Damn. Now looking for a new block I was hoping it would last a lot longer.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • No power

No more worrying about jumpers, chargers, and portable power supplies

I no longer have APS or CyberPower computer backups. It seems my computer overloaded the UPS half the time and shut down anyway. Even if the UPS was rated for 200% or more of my computer's power consumption. I haven't had a single problem since installing this 100Ah sealed battery jewel. Was it more than double the price? Yes. Did my computer/NAS box/network switch lose power after installation? no It's worth it! I'm considering getting one for my crockery box too. We go through periods of…

A bit disappointed with this APS750, it overloads every time my 6 amp sump goes out . Lite Tech for help? He explained that when the drain pump is on it draws a lot of amps so it gets overloaded, but I don't understand why does Tripp Lite list this inverter as a backup product for the drain pump when it can't handle the load? At this point I'll order another drain pump. from Revain it only uses 4.1 amps, try to see if it works? Because I really like the inverter with built-in charger and…

Good product. for inverter

I have seen that this product has some negative reviews. My experience with him has been consistently positive. I bought this to make a battery backup system for a couple of LED TVs, my computer, router, modem and my home's DVR and CCTV system. It took me a while to install and it's been running for a few weeks now with no problems. I've unplugged it several times to simulate a power outage and the electronics don't work, not even flickering. Great alternative to putting up a generator when I…

Mixed feelings: Power Inverters

I have mixed feelings about this product. I bought it for RV use in combination with a deep cycle battery and alternator. There are three settings on the face. The first is inverter mode, which delivers AC power from the battery to whatever is plugged in and automatically switches to AC power when AC power is applied to it (through my generator). It then switches back to the DC inverter when the generator is off. It also charges the battery when the generator is on in this mode. Nice, right. I…
