Tripp Lite Hi Speed Ultra Mini U222004R Review

I already have 3 of these devices and needed a fourth for the same application. The units (new original spare parts) I received did not work in my application (no power). I have two Raspberry Pis running from the same hub model. This item is smaller than a deck of cards and has 4 active USB 2 ports. Revain's description says it is a USB 1.1 device. According to the literature, it is a USB 2 device. I needed a self-powered USB 1.1 compatible hub for my laptop. My system shows a hub running faster over a USB 2 port, but it works fine on my laptop. I bought this USB hub because TrippLite has a very good reputation and makes great products. I was not disappointed.

I'm leaving my original review intact, however this hub is not working properly. I took it to the USB visor and watched the packets. It doesn't work. On most computers, this doesn't matter. You won't find this on anything with a strict USB implementation. This explains the behavior of the G4 with or without the power adapter connected. Good price and good workmanship. I don't know about everyone else, but the connectors on mine are pretty tight and difficult to plug in. When I started using it I thought maybe mine was broken or wrong because I couldn't easily install plugs; I finally managed to get the mouse and everything in with little effort.
