I never thought you could braze aluminum, but this product does just that. As a test, I brazed together a few pieces of 1/8" aluminum rod and the joint proved extremely strong. On this sample I then soldered a piece of brass. , it survived without any problems.

. While the set didn't work for me, I'm not sure I can fully fault the product. I was trying to fill a pinhole in an air conditioner condenser and just couldn't close it. It seems to go with the flow, only to find that the "Freon" flows out under pressure (I heard and felt that). I bought a needle flame butane gas torch that seemed hot, added a soldering iron tip to the torch and it was about the right temperature. Cooler.

According to others, it doesn't work quite as advertised. I was able to make a copper to aluminum bond, but no matter how clean it was and no matter how many different approaches I tried, the bond was always porous. I just couldn't do a full post. Solder will not flow unless liquid flux is applied to it. Flux penetrates the joint and bubbles up, causing holes. The connection is also very flat as a result. I do oxygen welding, arc welding, solder electronics and copper tubing. I still couldn't get the job done. I gave it two stars because I could get a decent looking drop every third try, it just couldn't handle the pressure, it always had a pinhole leak and that's unacceptable to me. I used a temperature controlled heat gun and then a propane torch.
