Victorinox Classic Serrated Utility Handle Kitchen & Dining Review

Wife likes it except he says it sucks for tomatoes but great for cheese. In fact, she says it's better than any other cheese knife we have. It's me! Change the name and it will be 5 stars!

I love this knife. Warning - DO NOT take this knife to a knife sharpening shop. Make sure they REALLY know how to sharpen serrated knives. Although I was told the shop knew how to do this, they actually ruined my knife by filing away most of the actual serrated part of the knife.

I love the sharpness of this knife, it cuts through tomato skin like butter. Don't use it as a double knife though, I had tiny cuts on my fingers where they met the knife, like paper cuts. This is for cutting only! And he does a great job with it!

I bought this knife because it was in the name of Victorinox. Bad mistake. There was plastic glue on the knife that was dangerous to remove. There are stains on the blade that are difficult to remove. I gave up trying to remove the stain after using hot soapy water, paint thinner and WD-40 and got a nice cut on my thumb so I'm writing this review with one hand :-(

Great value knife with great performance. The blade holds a sharp edge well, the handle is a decent size. Very functional. All my kids had a Victorinox set for college. including this 4 inch knife, 3 inch paring knife and 6 inch chef knife. They lasted all four years. We appreciated them a lot when we gave them as Christmas gifts to family/friends. We have found that inexpensive Victorinox knives do a lot of good. Recommend.

Do I really need a tomato knife? How is a tomato knife different from a regular kitchen knife? First, you're asking too many questions. Secondly, if you eat tomatoes / grow tomatoes / pass a tomato at least once - buy this knife! It cuts tomatoes so easily it's almost unbelievable. The serrated blade glides easily over the tomato skin. And the price... So good I bought one for my beautiful girlfriend and got big points (wink). I was looking for a good sharp knife to replace another brand of knife I have but can't find any more. This knife is very sharp! I cut myself with it about 3 times (not really the knife's fault). I like this knife for its sharpness, but it does feel a little "wobbly" or "wobbly" when cutting through something hard like a potato.
