Worked great for me!

I don't weld very much and I never needed one of these blankets but I finally did the project, I couldn't risk ruining things around me. They did a great job protecting these items. I'm definitely glad I bought them. They also appear to be extremely durable, but I'm not a professional welder so I'm not sure how they will hold up in these conditions.

Pros
  • good stuff
Cons
  • useless features

It's not possible!

Honestly, that's not a sweat blanket, blanket, rag, nothing of value. Welding sparks come through as if it were made of paper! I don't think there is a worse weld on the market. The cheaper felt blankets I've had for years are so much better and I'm so disappointed in myself that I've even tried them, let alone passed the return date.

Great grill blanket

I bought this product as a grill blanket for my smoker to keep the heat in while cooking. Before using it I found it difficult to maintain a constant temperature as I live on a hill with fairly constant wind. I also had trouble reaching temperatures over 360°. With this blanket the temperature stays constant and I was able to reach and stay at 435°.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Nothing

Sparks Melted holes in several places

I bought this to use as a blanket for my smoker but I'm also the director of a sweat factory and we welded some fabric over so my boys turned this blanket around cover the fabric underneath so the sparks don't damage it. After a day of use, sparks burned holes in several places. I spent $90 on this and could do the same with a quilt from home.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Tested and works fine. A very nice blanket.

Placed this blanket under the fire pit on the deck. I've read complaints that the cheaper ones just melt in the heat. So today I lit a pit, heated it up and put the hot wood right on top of the blanket. It can't be seen in daylight, but the underside of the tree glowed orange in the fire. After leaving it there for a few minutes, I moved it and then examined the top and bottom of the blanket. The ceiling turned black, but there was no sign of melting. I let the blanket cool and examined it…

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Unsure
