Description of ๐Ÿ”ฅ Welding Tungsten Electrode Lanthanated 10 Pack: Efficient Industrial Power & Hand Tools for Precision Welding

10 pack of EWLa-1.5, 1.5% Lanthanated (Gold) Tungsten Electrodes for TIG Welding. Normally use for welding titanium alloys, copper alloys, nickel alloys and stainless steels. All size of 6" (150mm) or 7" (175mm) in length and 0.04" (1.0mm), 1/16" (1.6mm), 3/32" (2.4mm) 1/8" (3.2mm) 5/32" (4.0mm) in Diameter. EWLa-1.5 designates a tungsten electrode containing 1.3-1.7% of dispersed lanthanum oxide (La2O3) for enhanced arc starting and stability, reduced tip erosion rate, and extended operating current range. EWLa-1.5 electrodes can be used as nonradioactive substitutes for 2% thoriated tungsten as the operating characteristics are very similar. Lanthanated tungsten can be used for both dcen and ac applications.

Works as it should - TIG welder

I bought these for my husband to use on a welding project he has. Neither of us are expert welders so I'm not sure how they compare to others either way, but they're a good fit for my husband and seem to be doing their job. I like the container they come in as they keep the bars neat and tidy and clearly define what's inside.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Damaged

Doesn't look like the right product

These should be 2% cerium rods, even says so on the packaging. However, the rods I received were blue with 2% lanthanum. I compared them to my cerium rods that came with my welder and the photos on the listing. Someone put lanthanum electrodes in my box of ceriat, or the wrong color was used.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • flimsy

Great for thin materials

Not being a welder in the family, I asked my husband to "burn a stick" and explain the details of how these tungsten electrodes are preformed. He said the following about 1/16 electrodes. I have found these tungsten rods to be excellent for beading thin material like 1/8" steel. I ran the machine (inverter based) with a 33 Hz, 33/33 DC pulse at 130 A to test a 1/8 inch diameter silicon bronze rod on a 1 inch diameter steel angle. It took me a while to dial in during runs (as I'm learning how to

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
