The knives are, well, Wüsthof quality.

Knives are razor sharp and are small in the hand, but not heavy. The wooden base we received is not the one in the photo. It's similar, but it's the same base as our previously owned Goumet knife set, which is an evolution of this Classic series. If you have both sets, the classic set is what you need.

The best investment in a knife set

Superb workmanship! Absolutely worth every penny. I had a chef's knife similar to the one in the set seven years ago. I was so happy with it that I knew I would be happy with this set. I cook at home at least four times a week and would like to make my life easier. Slicing ripe tomatoes is much more precise and cleaner! They are very sharp, so be careful when cleaning them.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Unbelievable price

Worth every penny!

My new favorite pieces! I searched and studied for a long time before deciding on these knives. They are real - forged, solid and made in Germany. I love her! I have small hands and they are perfect for me. Someone with larger hands might want to use the thicker and more ergonomic handles found on Wüsthofs' other lines of knives. Do not save and do not buy stamped knives - you will regret it.

  • Superb done

Nice but…: Knife sets

I just received them today. This is exactly what the description says, 14 bowls and a block, 15 pieces in total! Yes, there are 17 slots in the block, so you can add 3 more. Added a photo to show how everything looks put together. The set is beautiful and feels very comfortable in the hand. And yes, they are spicy. These are brand new knives, they will be very sharp. The only thing that confuses me is that the santoku is shorter than I expected. It's 5 inches, not the typical 6 inches I was…

Didn't know what I was missing

For years I've used mediocre knives or worse. I knew all the techniques. How to cut, dice and strips, but mostly I just cut my lunch. I recently decided to rack my brains and buy professional quality knives. Wow! I can't put into words what it was like to cut paper thin beef with almost no effort. Or peel a tomato so thinly that I can read a newspaper through the skin. Or dice the onion and then don't need a plaster. I swear I thought I was about to hear a symphony accompanied by angels…

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes

  • boring packaging

Worth the money, just buy!

Really great knife set. I'm by no means a professional chef, but I do enjoy buying quality kitchenware that will last and get the bill. Expensive sure but very well made and I expect them to last for decades with proper care. I'm attaching a photo of what's included as it's not in the description. You will receive 4 steak knives, 1 chef's knife, 1 carving knife, 1 utility knife, 1 paring knife, 1 bread knife, 1 sharpening rod, 1 kitchen scissors, 1 knife block. There are two additional empty…

The last knife you will ever buy! Proud of every day of action.

Yes, it is very expensive. Now consider that they come with a lifetime replacement guarantee and that they are extremely sharp and can be sharpened over and over again. Please also note that they are of excellent workmanship and their design prevents food from getting caught between the handle and the blade (only available in the classic version). Now ask yourself a $120 Ginsu knife set that will stay sharp for a year or two before needing replacement. Please also consider (if you are…
